Review of “Just Blushing Powder” by L.A. Girl

L.A. Girl, a North American cruelty-free cosmetic brand, released their Just Blushing powders in selected South African drugstores towards the very end of 2017. It was originally released at the beginning of 2017 in the USA. This collection of powder blushes consists of an impressive 16 shades, including natural nudes and bold colours. The Just Blushing powders come in both matte and shimmer finishes.

Extremely pigmented powder blush that is just gorgeous! Available in an impressive assortment of colors, this collection of 16 blushes ranges from soft gray to wearable nudes to bold and bright shades. Blendable, buildable color in matte & shimmer finishes. The soft and silky formula is long wearing sure to leave you– “just blushing” all night long.

The Just Blushing powders are packaged in a black, rectangular plastic pan. The lid of the pan is transparent, making it possible to see the physical product, with a metallic gold print of the brand and product’s name on it. The bottom of the pan specifies the ingredients and other information about the company. The packaging of this product is quite thick and it appears to hold a lot of product, which is quite easy to use with a blush brush. I wouldn’t consider this to be travel-friendly.

LA Girl Just Blushing Powder

This specific blush in the 16-shade collection is called Just Pinched. It is an extremely pigmented hot pink powder with a matte finish. I think that this shade is cool-toned. The Just Blushing powder feels soft and smooth with a little bit of fallout. It is possible to blend the blush with a little bit of effort once applied to the cheeks, and it is also buildable. In normal circumstances when applied alone on top of foundation, it lasts for about six hours before it gradually fades; however, the longevity depends on a large number of different external factors. It fades quite naturally and the pigment doesn’t disappear entirely. If worn with a good setting spray, it could remain perfectly in place the whole day.

Although Just Pinched is quite a dark shade for someone with such pale skin, I really wanted a bright pink/red blush for a really pretty unnaturally-rosy-cheeks-look that would complement my new copper hair colour. The colour payoff is really impressive, so I use this blush with a very light hand and I use a clean brush and/or makeup sponge to blend it in. I definitely want to add a few more shades of L.A. Girl’s Just Blushing powders into my shopping cart in the future.

LA Girl Just Blushing Powder

I bought L.A. Girl’s Just Pinched Just Blushing powder from Dis-Chem at Canal Walk, and it is currently still available. The blush powders are R99,95 each. This collection currently appears to only be available in selected Dis-Chem stores.

On Love, Kaylyn, I am committed to showcasing 100% cruelty-free cosmetic brands. L.A. Girl has guaranteed that they are cruelty-free according to my standards. Furthermore, they have been certified by PETA.

In the pan it looks so very intimidating but the swatch is actually so so pretty! I love the slight peachy undertone. You picked a stunning shade for sure! Did you see the bright purple shade? Gosh, it scares me. Perhaps I should swatch a tester in store. Who knows maybe it will look pretty.

I saw that purple one! I would look like an actual zombie if I put that on my cheeks, LOL. There are so many options, you’re bound to find a shade that will suit your skin tone beautifully! x
