Review of “Tea Tree Shampoo & Conditioner” by Simply Bee + Ingredients Overview

Simply Bee, a South African cruelty-free cosmetics brand, started developing natural beeswax products in 2008. Their Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner are both made using Melaleuca alternifolia, tea tree essential oil, well-loved by the Aboriginal communities in Australia. It has been said that this essential oil can be used to battle dandruff, itchy scalp and head lice, and encourage hair growth. These two products are 100% natural and free from all harmful chemicals.

Simply Bee shampoo leaves your hair feeling light and soft. Propolis and tea tree oil work especially well together to treat your scalp.

Simply Bee conditioner compliments our Tea Tree shampoo. The jojoba oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil and coconut oil are rich and natural and absorbs quickly, leaving the hair feeling nourished.

The full-sized Simply Bee Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner are both packaged in simple transparent 250ml plastic bottles with white plastic lids. They each have a sticker with the name of the product and the brand’s logo on the front, while the back sticker contains more information about the product and contact information. These full-sized products are not travel-friendly, but I have seen these products in convenient 50ml sample-sized bottles before.

Tea Tree Shampoo

This product is an all-natural shampoo. It has quite a thin consistency that feels very light and comfortable on the scalp. When applying onto wet hair, the Simply Bee Tea Tree Shampoo does lather, although this does depend on the condition of one’s hair/scalp. It removes the dirt and the oil without making the hair feel dry. My hair still feels relatively soft after washing it with this product. The Tea Tree Shampoo has a strong tea tree fragrance that lingers on the hair for a few days.
INGREDIENTS: Aqua, Potassium oleate (emulsifier), Potassium cocoate (surfactant), Olea europaea (Olive) fruit oil, Glycerin (humectant), Potassium citrate (preservative), Prunus amygdalis dulcis (Sweet Almond) oil, Liquid Castile soap, Jojoba oil/Macadamia seed oil, Phytosteryl esters (Jojoba) oil, Honey, Propolis, Curcuma Longa (Tumeric), Melaleuca alternifolia (Tea Tree) essential oil.

Tea Tree Conditioner

The Simply Bee Tea Tree Conditioner is also an all-natural product. It almost feels like a thin cream-to-water consistency, which is quite unique. This product is light on the hair and absorbs extremely fast. My hair feels truly soft and nourished and healthy after rinsing it out. The Tea Tree Conditioner also has a strong tea tree fragrance that lingers on the hair for a few days.
INGREDIENTS: Aqua, Jojoba oil/Macadamia seed oil, Phytosterol esters (Jojoba) oil, Olea europaea (Olive) fruit oil, Cocus nucifera (Coconut) oil, Prunus amygdalus dulcis (Sweet Almond) oil, Cetearyl olivate & Sorbitan olivate (Emulsifier O), Honey, Propolis, Curcuma Longa (Tumeric), Melaleuca alternifolia (Tea Tree) essential oil.

Simply Bee Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner

The Simply Bee Shampoo and Conditioner are both natural and chemical-free, and they have performed really well on my hair. I was impressed by the way in which these two products could make my chemically-damaged hair feel so light, soft and nourished. This was my personal experience, and it is based on longterm use. The SLS-free shampoo still lathers, especially after a second use. Dandruff that I have suffered from for a long time appears to have decreased dramatically. I use a lot of this conditioner throughout my hair, including my roots, and I prefer to leave it on for a minimum of five minutes before rinsing it out with warm water. Those who suffer with sensitive scalps may enjoy these products.

I bought the full-sized Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner from Simply Natural in Canal Walk. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the prices; however, on Simply Bee’s online store, they are R90 and R95 respectively. I bought the sample-sized Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner from the Wellness Warehouse in the V&A Waterfront for R25 each. These products are currently available in Simply Natural stores, Wellness Warehouse stores, Simply Bee online, and Faithful to Nature online.

On Love, Kaylyn, I am committed to showcasing 100% cruelty-free cosmetic brands. Simply Bee has guaranteed that they are cruelty-free according to my standards. Furthermore, they have been certified by Beauty Without Cruelty South Africa.

This sounds really promising. I think we have a Wellness Warehouse in our mall, so I’d love to try the sample sizes as my hear has been been feeling really dull and heavy lately. I was thinking of chopping it off but I’m not sure yet.

You might like this, although I’m not entirely sure about how it will perform on heavy hair considering the thin-ness of the shampoo and conditioner. The ingredients are great though! x

The packaging looks cute ❤️ I have an Afro so I really need a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Did these leave your soft and moisturized?

Yes, they did, but they are quite light products. I don’t think they are intensely moisturising. x
